 A Brief History of Grayline
Grayline has been manufacturing PVC tubing since 1966! Originally founded by the Gray family,
Grayline’s first product was PVC tubing engineered for use in electrical applications, providing
insulation and abrasion protection while bundling wires.
Over time, Grayline product offerings have expanded to include heat shrinkable PVC tubing,
heat shrinkable polyolefin tubing, braided sleeving, polyurethane tubing, fuel line tubing,
food and beverage tubing, laboratory tubing, and more.
In 1987, Grayline was sold to a small group of investors who had a vision for growing the company. In
1995, Grayline moved its offices and manufacturing operations into a larger, newly constructed
facility located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, just minutes west of Milwaukee.
The markets that Grayline serves are diverse, including appliances, automotive, and electronics, to
name but a few. Grayline electrical grade tubing products meet or surpass a variety of UL, CSA, ASTM,
DIN, military, AMS, automotive and other specifications. Although many applications of Grayline
product remain electrical in nature, non-electrical applications are also numerous, ranging from
musical instruments to sporting goods!
Grayline products are used throughout North America and beyond, and are supplied both directly to
OEM’s and through distribution.
