Grayline FB50-SIL is a very flexible, peroxide-cured tubing that offers excellent resistance to extreme temperatures. It is well suited for appliance and computer applications because it has good electrical properties and the ability to self-extinguish. Grayline FB50-SIL is also great for food contact applications because it is odorless, tasteless, inert and contains only FDA-sanctioned ingredients. Grayline FB50-SIL tubing contains no sulfur or other acid-producing chemicals, thereby eliminating the possibility of staining, corroding, or deteriorating materials it contacts. It is very resilient, stretchable, and resistant to compression set.
It may be low pressure steam sterilized in-line or autoclaved up to 250°F in a normal autoclaving cycle. However, it will relax and become gummy after long term exposure to high temperature or pressure and should be replaced. Fittings, clamps, sharp barbed fittings, and unlined metal clamps can tear into the silicone tubing wall and should be selected with caution.
