Grayline MD50-PL-SIL is a very flexible, platinum-cured medical grade tubing that offers excellent resistance to extreme temperatures. It’s surface properties resist sticking and will not support bacteria growth. The tubing is soft, pliable, and contains no plasticizers which could leach out, causing flow contamination or tube hardening. It is non-reactive to body tissues and fluids and can also be reused after exposure to repeated sterilizations. However, it will relax and become gummy after it has been exposed to multiple sterilizations and should be replaced. Long term exposure to high temperature or pressure will also have the same effect on the tubing.
Grayline MD50-PL-SIL is manufactured under good manufacturing procedures in a controlled environment. Typical applications include pharmaceutical, biomedical, health and beauty, food, and beverage handling. Fittings, clamps, sharp barbed fittings, and unlined metal clamps can tear into the silicone tubing wall and should be selected with caution.
