Heat Shrinkable Polyolefin Tubing

Polyolefin heat shrink tubing is made from a thermoplastic polymer (usually polyethylene) which has been cross-linked either by electron beam radiation or a chemical process. The cross-linking results in improved physical characteristics such as higher operating temperatures. Since the polymer is not inherently flame resistant like PVC, flame retardant additives are used to meet automotive and appliance specifications.

Polyolefin heat shrinkable tubing is available in shrink ratios ranging from 2:1 to 4:1, allowing greater design flexibility. It can also be supplied with a hot melt adhesive lining to provide an excellent environmental seal. Printing and hot stamping are also available.
