What's New At Grayline

Chemically Resistant Tubing 65-CX and 85-CX

Grayline is pleased to announce the addition of two new chemically resistant tubing products to our lineup.

Grayline 65-CX is a non-toxic, laboratory grade flexible PVC tubing that is chemically resistant to many common fluids, including bleach, sulfuric acid and nitric acid, to name but a few. The material is soft (65 Durometer Shore A) and very flexible, allowing tight curvature bends and easy placement over barbed fittings. In addition, all ingredients used in 65-CX are FDA sanctioned for use in food contact applications. With an operating temperature range of -45 C to 60 C (-49 F to 140 F) and an elongation of 375%, Grayline 65-CX offers an alternative to TYGON tubing. 65-CX is lead free and meets various EU Directives.

Grayline 85-CX chemically resistant tubing is made from a harder, stiffer compound (85 Durometer Shore A) that resists kinking and grips tightly over barbed fittings. In addition, antifungal additives and hydrolysis-resistant stabilizers make this material ideal for use in moist environments. The operating temperature range is –35 C to 80 C (-31 F to 176 F) and the elongation is 330%. 85-CX is also lead free and meets various EU Directives.

In addition to these products, Grayline also offers custom tubing designed to meet the specific needs of your application, including special compound formulations to provide the chemical and mechanical properties required, custom diameters and wall thicknesses, and a variety of colors, including custom-matched shades.

Halogen-Free Tubing

Why use Halogen-Free Tubing?

Reasons Include:

Environmentally Friendly Material
Fire Safety (low smoke toxicity)
Fire Damage Prevention (low smoke corrosivity)

Various industry and legislative environmental initiatives are driving the elimination or reduction of halogen compounds which are generally thought to be non-environmentally friendly.

In addition, when materials containing halogens burn, they tend to give off smoke that is both toxic and corrosive. Halogen free materials may be specified in cases where these combustion products are of significant concern, such as in enclosed areas occupied by humans, or in areas having sensitive or critical electronic equipment.

Availability of 3-D Heat Formed Tubing Shapes

Grayline is pleased to announce that we are now capable of providing our customers with three-dimensional heat formed tubing shapes. In many applications, the use of a pre-shaped flexible tube may be preferable to a straight flexible tube, quite often to reduce kinking, to more properly route wiring, or to allow easier connection to fittings. One commonly found application for pre-formed tubing is the transfer of fluids in confined spaces, such as coolant hoses used under the hood of an automobile. Another application is self-coiling tubing that is often used with pneumatic equipment. However, many other applications exist, including the routing of wires around obstacles.

Grayline Engineers are ready to assist you with your specific application for pre- formed tubing shapes. For more information, please call 262-542-4300 or email sales@graylineinc.com with the requirements for your application.
